He lived His life on earth
At the pace of Heaven.
Thirty years
Was not too long to wait,
Three years
Was enough time for execution,
The measure of his infleunce
Was not in the number of followers,
He would not be hurried
And yet was always open to digressions,
He confidently sought the audience of thousands
And aslo craved solitude with His Father.
The metronome of Jesus
Beats steadily at its own pace,
Unhurried but on mission-
That a Man two millenia ago
Would live a life of such magnitude
That the timeline of history itself
Was split in two.
