This journey with God
Is not a walk towards
Increasing independence
As though He were a teacher
Who is expectant that one day
I’ll graduate to a life
Without need of Him.
In Him
There is no coming of age,
No handling of my business
Apart from Him,
No upgrade to self-sufficiency
To a life embedded in the self-will.
To walk with the Father
Is to know you are a child.
I need Him
More than I did yesterday
Not because I am not growing
But because some things
Cannot be outgrown.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
