To step out of one reality
Into another.
The pandemic and everything since
Has shown us how little
We can take for granted,
How our very reality
Can be derailed in just a few days;
Economies disrupted
Lives upended
Wars erupted.
Maybe the ground’s been shaking
All along,
Maybe
We were never in control,
Maybe this is how unpredictable the world
Has really been along
And we finally have to
Reckon with it.
