Invested in it.
Nothing destroys
Your chances of creating wonderful things
Quite as quickly
As being too closely entwined
With the outcomes.
Sure, one hopes for recognition
And applause is a sign
That you’re onto something
But that’s not where
The secret sauce comes from-
Its not where the magic resides.
Important work isn’t always praised
And what’s praised isn’t always important-
Better to be removed somewhat
From both the wins and the losses
And rather identify yourself
With the work itself.
Do the work-
The best fruit will bear
On its own.
