The holiest One to ever live
Already lived, died and resurrected
So there’s no need
To try compete for His number one spot.
indeed, to be a Christian
Is not about our Herculean efforts
To be good people
But rather it is to live a life in response
To One greater than Hercules,
And greater than every other hero
We dreamed of being as kids-
The One who is infinitely better than us,
Who humbled Himself into literal infancy
That He might lend His strength
To those without,
And offer His blood
For those with no means of their own redemption.
He is Holy
Holier than thou.
“To whom then will you liken Me
That I would be his equal?” says the Holy One.
