We appear to be far more
Motivated
To offer Africans charity
Than to take the necessary steps
To see them on
Their own two feet.
We project that generations unborn
Will also depend on donations
Waiting, like always, at the back of the line.
It seems that it is difficult
To look across the masses of Africans
And imagine them
Well fed
Well educated
Prosperous.
Oh, but we can give them food parcels
For six months
Or maybe even five years,
Or indefinitely-
Whichever comes first.
