It makes it easier to choose to stay for
The long haul
When you see others choosing to do the same.
Family.
Art.
Business.
Fellowship.
Consistency in others
Can often feel as concrete as the walls around us.
This is why broken promises are so shattering
Disorienting.
The atmospheres we inhabit
Are made up of kept promises as much as they are of oxygen.
Simply showing up consistently
Matters. A lot.
We are not always strong
Not always in the mood
And our motives are not always pure
And on days like that,
Seeing the devotion of others
Makes it that much easier to
Show up again tomorrow.
Commitments, by nature,
Matter most when they are inconvenient,
So in a world where convenience is glorified
Making a commitment and sticking to it
Reinforces the spaces we belong to,
Brings a resilience to our human collective
And inspires others to do the same.
Do not grow weary in doing good.
