With so many images on our news feed
Of other people living their best lives;
Reaping harvests and claiming awards,
Its easy to excuse each other
For feeling like good things
Don’t come to those who wait.
Patience may be out of fashion
But it’s definitely not obsolete.
Patience is not inaction
Nor a failure to innovate.
Nor laziness.
Nor passivity.
Nor fear.
Patience is trust.
Trusting yourself and your contributions
Trusting the process.
Trusting that you will be ready when opportunity comes
That even if you fail you will get back up.
It’s trusting that God has not muddled up your life.
Impatience may help you get to a short cut
But that’s no way to live.
Take your time.
