You may have rigged the ballot
And called it democracy,
You may have cheated the case
And called it justice,
You may have forced us into submission
And called it civilization,
You may have gotten away with murder
And called it self defense,
Condemned the innocent
And said that you were just doing your job,
Oppressed the weak
Saying it was an unintended consequence of progress,
Stolen from the poor
And called it gentrification,
You may have continued to benefit from generational inequality
And claimed your innocence.
But best believe that someone, somewhere is watching
And standing in silent protest.
For you may conquer and rule the land
But you will not conquer and rule our hearts.
It is your time. Eat.
We will wait as the tide of change rises,
Then our protests will be silent no more.
